My Story
In this issue, I share a piece of my personal story — growing up as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and how those experiences influence my work as an early-stage investor early-stage investor.
I recently sat down with Angie D’Sa for her podcast, The Clarifier. Angie serves as a partner at Talentism and coaches founders and CEOs at high growth startups.
I've known Angie for over a decade, since our time together at Bridgewater. She's a master at understanding people through their personal narrative.
I've come to believe that stories are the best tool we have for evaluating people and teams. To really understand who someone is and where they're headed, it’s worth the time to explore the cause-and-effect relationships between their environment, life experiences, and the evolution of their values, abilities, and decision-making.
With that in mind, I want to share a part of my own story — growing up as a member of the LGBTQ+ community (happy Pride Month!), the impact that had on me, and how those experiences influence my work as an early-stage investor.
Angie, thank you for having me on. I came away with a deeper, more refined sense of self.
Shout out to Jessi, Rocio, John, Nate, and the rest of the Talentism team for making this happen.
